Allan Houston
I worked with former all-star shooting guard for the New York Knicks Allan Houston to help communicate the value of Allan's strong and intense, but polished and faith-based personal brand. Unlike many of his counterparts, Allan's image was more clean-cut, and as a result, attractive to sponsorships .We created a number of marketing collateral that showcased his athletic accomplishments, his community-based non-profit foundation work, his previous film and television appearances, and his family-centric value system.
Sponsorship Presentation
This sponsorship presentation was used to showcase Allan's on-court and off-court highlights and present the personal values that he stood for in order to secure endorsement opportunities. The presentation presents Allan as a "silent warrior"—intense and deadly in basketball games, but smooth and laid back off the court.
COMMUNITY WORK
Allan Houston was involved in a number of charity and community building initiatives. Much of his community work was with his Allan Houston Legacy Foundation which promoted the fundamental values of Faith, Integrity, Sacrifice, Leadership, and Legacy to provide a foundation to young people to reach their full potential.Allan Houston's Father Knows Best Basketball Retreat
The Allan Houston's Father Knows Best Basketball Retreat is a faith-based, memorable weekend designed to strengthen father-son and mentor-mentee relationships. It featured a unique combination of basketball and learning sessions emphasizing communication and the value of quality time spent together. The event offered a one-of-a-kind experience with strategies that could be implemented in everyday family life. For young people without the benefit of a father-figure in their lives, the retreat is intended to help support and foster positive relationships with male role models such as mentors, big brothers, godfathers, etc.
Allan Houston Celebrity Golf Classic
The Allan Houston Celebrity Golf Classic featured Allan's celebrity athlete and friends competing in a golf tournament along with a sports memorabilia auction as a fund-raiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana.
The Allan Houston Life Enrichment Center
Allan sought to explore partnership support to build The Allan Houston Life Enrichment Center, a facility that was envisioned as a multi-faceted community resource seeking to use the game of basketball to empower people socially, intellectually and spiritually. Based in Harlem, the center would included pro quality basketball courts, a convertible live performance space, seminar instructional rooms, computer technology rooms, and office and retail spaces. The center aimed to serve youth living in working class, under-educated, and low-income neighborhoods with programs in mentoring, education and entrepreneurship with a commitment to personal and collective growth, respect, trust and achievement.
